Fertigation and Chemigation- Maximizing Efficiency While Protecting the Water Resource

A well designed and maintained irrigation system offers the opportunity for safe and timely application of pesticides and nutrient. Having the required injection pump, backflow safety equipment and safety interlocks in place before the cropping season positions producer to maximize the benefits of their irrigation investment. We will look at equipment, planning, timing, and limitation of chemigation and fertigation with an emphasis on fungicide product labels and nitrogen applications as an example.
