Insect Pest Dynamics and Evolving IPM
Corn rootworm has been evolving resistance to Bt traits at the same time that population densities throughout the corn belt have declined. This talk will focus on how the pest status of this insect has changed over the last several years and what it means for management in the corn belt. In addition, we will discuss the sporadic nature of pests in soybean and how an IPM approach can avoid unnecessary chemical inputs.
