Cover Crop Seeding Methods and Their Challenges
Seeding of cover crops in the fall after cash crop harvest can be challenging. These challenges include timeliness of seeding, equipment available for seeding, heavy residue levels, labor availability for seeding cover crops and potential herbicide interactions with the seeded cover crop. In addition to managing these issues fall weather including rainfall and temperature can be the final determining factor on cover crop success. This session will look at different seeding methods and how each can fit into a producers operation.
