Does Placement of Phosphorus and Potassium Fertilizers Matter?
Previous research across the Midwest has shown inconsistent yield responses when comparing band vs broadcast placement of P and K fertilizers. High fertilizer prices have renewed questions about the potential benefits of band applications of P and K. Specifically, Can deep banding near the row increase corn yield? Does banding allow me to reduce fertilizer rates substantially without losing yield? and Is banding P and K more profitable than broadcast? In this presentation Vetsch will share research data from a four-year study in Minnesota.
