Lowell Gentry is a Principal Research Specialist in Agriculture in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois. He has a bachelor's degree in Ecology, Ethology, and Evolution and a master's degree in Agronomy both from the University of Illinois. Lowell is the principal investigator of several projects studying fertilizer timing and placement, nutrient cycling and tile nutrient loss, and the effectiveness of cover crops to reduce nutrients in streams of central Illinois. Lowell and his wife, Laura, have two daughters and reside in Urbana, IL.
