Dr. Yichao Rui is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agronomy at Purdue University. He is the Principal Investigator of the Purdue Agroecology Lab. He received his Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from Nankai University, and PhDs from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Microbial Ecology) and Griffith University of Australia (Soil Science). His research is dedicated to unraveling the mechanistic processes underlying soil carbon sequestration and crop resilience. His program strives to identify opportunities for integrating ecological principles into current cropping systems, thereby ensuring and enhancing their long-term performance and sustainability.
