Joel Ransom

Joel Ransom is a professor and extension agronomist in the department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University. In addition to providing leadership to educational programs for farmers and crop consultants dealing with small grains (including barley) and corn, he conducts applied agronomic research on these crops. He has been in his current position since 2002. Prior to joining NDSU he worked for 20 years with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Mexico, Kenya and Nepal. He has academic degrees from Brigham Young University (BS) and the University of Minnesota (MS and PhD).
